Debris Removal Update and Video
Huge progress has been made in regards to debris cleanup in the Mountain Shadows community. At this time, 241 sites are at various stages of debris removal being tracked by GE Johnson Construction Company.
We really appreciate the tremendous response to this program. As insurance companies, the homeowners and their contractors have worked through this process, they have discovered that every home site is unique and requires its own estimate. The individual estimate in turn has to be reviewed with the insurance adjuster and the homeowner. While this has caused a few days of delay in the overall program, most estimates were still sent out by July 27, 2012. The work itself is now being scheduled and debris removal has begun!
If you received an estimate from GE Johnson, please inform them by August 17, 2012 as to whether or not you will be using their services to remove the debris on your property as part of this program. As you can imagine, the team of contractors has a lot of work to do so please contact them with your decision as soon as possible.
If you would like GE Johnson to give you an estimate, you can still sign up via our online form. Please do this as soon as possible so they can get you an estimate and still allow you and your insurance company time to review it and respond before August 17th.
We encourage those who have not yet come up with a plan to remove the debris at their home site to work with the contractor of their choice to start working through the process and laying out the work schedule to help the neighborhood to meet the goal of having all debris removed by the end of August.
All contractors should be abiding by the procedures defined by the El Paso County Health Department and the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department. The Regional Building Department has dedicated a Deputy Building Official to the neighborhood to help ensure the procedures required by each of the permits issued are followed.

82 – Demolition/ Debris removal including ash, steel and other building materials
13 – Wrecking including removal of foundations
1 – New build of single family dwelling
