You are Invited to Play a Round of Golf with Waldo Canyon Firefighters & First Responders

The Club at Flying Horse is hosting a golf outing honoring the firefighters and first responders.

The invitation has also been extended to Mountain Shadows residents (no charge) to play in the event. A spot in the event is guaranteed to the first 24 who sign up. There will be a wait list for any others who sign up.

This will be a great time for the community to come together to show our appreciation to our first responders and the firefighting team.

When:

Monday, October 22, 2012
10:00 a.m. (range will open at 8:30 a.m.)

Where:
Flying Horse Golf Course
Highway 83 & Flying Horse Club Drive
Colorado Springs, CO 80921

To get to Flying Horse, take Interquest Parkway to the east and it will turn into Hwy 83 just past New Life Church and Pikes Peak Community College where it turns north. The entrance to the club is the next left past the light at 83 and Shoup. Continue west to the gate and tell the guard you are there for the golf event. Be cautious with MapQuest as it has sent folks the wrong way in the past!

What:
This event will not be a competition, but there will be some "closest to the hole" and "longest drive" contests, as well as a couple of hole-in-one prizes (a Honda and a trip to Mexico).

There will be coffee and donuts prior to the shotgun start, and lunch will be provided on-course.

There will be a limited number of sets of golf clubs that will be available for residents who lost theirs in the fire and have not yet been able to replace them. If you can borrow a set from a friend, it will guarantee that you have a set to play with. If all else fails, folks can play from the same bag, so don't be deterred!

RSVP:

If you would like to play, please e-mail both:

Captain Gabe Blance (CSFD) and Jim Spittler

They will get you signed up or on the wait list as appropriate.

Please also contact Captain Blance and Mr. Spittler if you have any questions.
