Wishing You Unwavering Joy for the Holidays

Over the past months, our Colorado Springs Together team members have met and worked with so many of you whose lives were touched by the Waldo Canyon Fire. We have become admirers of your strength to move beyond the devastation, and of your courage to rebuild. You stand as the human will personified, striving to restore your homes and lives.

Here at the end of the year, we are encouraged by the progress made; about 80 permits have been issued to rebuild homes lost to the fire. With the debris cleared, and with construction well underway, we can see the future of Mountain Shadows beginning to take shape.

For families who suffered partial loss, as you move forward with repairs and reconstruction, the road before you is also difficult, and your challenges distinct.

Some of you will choose not to remain and rebuild. But know you will always be considered a part of the neighborhood and your presence will be missed.

Greater than the sum of the structures that will stand again is the community evolving from the ashes, with a renewed commitment to life and to each other. We witness this commitment as we move forward with you.

So here is to you, Mountain Shadows, and to a New Year!

With our warmest regards,
Your Colorado Springs Together Team
