CenturyLink to Upgrade Network in Burn Area

New homes are being erected at an accelerating pace, and communication service considerations are requisite for full neighborhood restoration.

CenturyLink has been a committed partner of fire recovery efforts resulting from the Waldo Canyon Fire last June. CenturyLink was right there from the beginning providing their assistance to the first responders and ensuring that their communications services were not affected, including their emergency 911 services.

CenturyLink was also proud to donate $5,000 to the American Red Cross and $5,000 to Colorado Springs Together to assist those affected by the wildfires. CenturyLink employees also donated over $7,000 and assisted with delivering items to Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado to assist with their efforts. The CenturyLink team is eager to help Mountain Shadows get back on its feet in all capacities, and is looking forward to upgrading their communications network in the area.

The network upgrades that are being considered include fiber to the neighborhood technology and will allow CenturyLink to offer residents faster broadband speeds, as well as entertainment and voice services. CenturyLink has not ruled out the opportunity to bring residents the highly anticipated Prism TV service that is delivered over their dynamic fiber-optic network. Prism TV is scheduled to begin its roll out in the summer of 2013.

More details will be released as they are made available. If you have any questions, please contact CenturyLink's Mark Bittle at 719-313-1070.
