Mountain Shadows Park Renovation

In the midst of growing momentum towards full restoration in Mountain Shadows, Colorado Springs Together is pleased to announce a project that will enhance the community for many years to come. In 2013, the Mountain Shadows Park will be improved and renovated with extensive input from citizens living within the community. This effort is possible thanks to several generous corporate sponsors, the support of the Mountain Shadows Community Association (MSCA), and many of the neighborhood homeowners associations.

Mountain Shadows Park is a city-owned park, and therefore the City of Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation Department will be running the project. Chris Lieber, Principal Planner / TOPS Program Manager, City of Colorado Springs will be the project manager for this renovation.

Because the park is adjacent to Chipeta Elementary School, the Parks department, School District 11 and our sponsors have agreed that the project should encompass integrating and upgrading the school grounds and facilities where possible to provide a wonderful community asset for the future.

The process will include several meetings with neighbors as well as other activities over the next few months with the objective of completing the work sometime during the middle part of 2013. The first neighborhood meeting will take place January 9, 2013. Details will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, please stop by Colorado Springs Together: The Center starting next week to check out the display that the Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation team has created for this project. While you're there, you can also fill out a survey to provide your input.

Stay tuned for updates on the Colorado Springs Together website, the MSCA website and newsletter, and the various HOA communication channels.
